A colorful street, a tropical afternoon, and the beauty of simply wandering
Pastel buildings line a sunlit street beneath an intensely blue Caribbean sky. Coral, lavender, yellow, green, and white façades unfold downhill, interrupted by wrought-iron balconies, tropical palms, and the everyday details of city life.
I captured this original photograph while exploring Puerto Rico during a trip in February 2019.
There wasn't a famous monument at the end of the street or a particular viewpoint I had come to find. What caught my attention was simply the street itself — its color, architecture, light, and unmistakable sense of place.
With its colorful architecture, bright Caribbean sky, strong vertical lines, and tropical character, this photograph brings warmth and energy into a space while retaining the intimacy of an everyday street scene.
Its vertical composition works especially well in narrower wall spaces — beside a reading chair, above a console, between windows, in an entryway, or as part of a travel-inspired gallery wall.
Perhaps Puerto Rico reminds you of a journey you've taken.
Perhaps it's somewhere you call home.
Or perhaps you're simply drawn to colorful streets and that particular feeling of exploring somewhere new without knowing exactly what you'll find.
Whatever connects you to this photograph, I hope it brings a little of that sunlight, color, and curiosity into your space.
Bring a piece of the journey home.
