# BETWEEN AUTUMN AND WINTER
### White Mountains · New Hampshire · October 2024
Autumn stretches across the valley while the first traces of snow settle over the mountains above.
I photographed this view during an October 2024 trip to New Hampshire's White Mountains with friends. We had come hoping to catch the fall foliage at its peak, and the weather could hardly have been better — clear skies, crisp mountain air, and autumn colors spreading across the landscape.
From this viewpoint, the seasons seemed to meet in a single frame. Below, the valley was still filled with greens, yellows, oranges, and reds. Above, the higher elevations of the Presidential Range were already dusted with snow.
Later in the trip, we continued toward Mount Washington and took the train up the mountain — turning a day spent admiring the mountains from afar into a journey toward the summit itself.
